Privacy Policy
Your information, in plain words.
Effective October 6, 2026
The short version
- We collect only what you give us: your email, whether you're a creator or a brand, and a phone number if you choose to add one.
- We use it to tell you when your spot opens and to answer your questions.
- We don't sell it, we don't share it for advertising, and this website has no tracking cookies or analytics.
- You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing privacy@breadshare.app.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how Breadshare (“Breadshare”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through the website at breadshare.app. Breadshare decides how that information is used, which makes us the “controller” of it under European law.
It covers this website and its waitlist. It does not yet cover the Breadshare app, which is in private testing. See The Breadshare app below.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
| When | What | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| You join the waitlist | Your email address, and whether you are joining as a creator or a brand | Yes, to join |
| You join as a creator and add a number | Your phone number | No, it is optional |
| You ask a question on the Questions page | The question you wrote, and your email address if you add one | The email is optional |
| You email us | Your email address and whatever you write | Up to you |
We also record the date and time you joined or asked.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, ours is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard technical logs when a page is requested: your IP address, the type of browser and device, the page requested, and the time. We use these only to keep the site running and secure. We do not use them to identify you or to build a profile of you.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and does not load content from advertising networks. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
Information we don't ask for
Please don't send us sensitive information through the forms on this site, such as government ID numbers, financial account details, health information or passwords. We don't need it and don't want it.
3. How we use it
- To run the waitlist: to tell you when your spot opens, and to decide who to invite to early testing.
- To talk to you: to answer questions you send us, and, if you gave a phone number, to call or text you about your spot.
- To write the Questions page: questions people ask help us decide what to answer. We may publish a question, reworded if needed, but never with your name, email or anything that identifies you.
- To send updates about Breadshare: occasional emails about our launch and progress. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep the site secure and working: to prevent abuse, fix problems and meet our legal obligations.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Emails, calls and texts
Email. Joining the waitlist means we will email you about your place and about Breadshare's launch. Every such email will include a way to unsubscribe, and we will act on it promptly. You can also email privacy@breadshare.app to be removed.
Calls and texts. Giving us a phone number is optional and is not a condition of joining the waitlist or using Breadshare. If you give one, you agree that Breadshare may call or text you at that number about your spot. We do this by hand, not with automated dialling or pre-recorded messages, and we do not use your number for general marketing. Your mobile carrier's message and data rates may apply. To stop, reply STOP to any text, tell us on a call, or email privacy@breadshare.app, and we will remove your number.
6. What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share it with third parties for advertising, including “cross-context behavioural advertising”.
- We do not give or sell your contact details to brands, creators or anyone else for their own marketing.
- We do not buy information about you from other sources.
7. How long we keep it
- Waitlist details (email, creator or brand, phone number): until you ask us to delete them, or until you become a Breadshare user, at which point the app's privacy terms apply. If neither happens, we delete them no later than 24 months after you joined.
- Questions: the text may be kept as long as it is useful for the Questions page. Any email address attached to a question is deleted within 24 months, or sooner if you ask.
- Emails you send us: for as long as needed to deal with your message and keep a reasonable record.
- Technical logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under their own retention settings.
8. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- Correct anything that is wrong;
- Delete it and take you off the waitlist;
- Stop emailing, calling or texting you.
Email privacy@breadshare.app from the address you signed up with. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm it is really you before acting, which we will do by replying to the email address we have for you. We will never treat you differently for making a request.
9. If you live in California, another US state, the EU or the UK
California and other US states with privacy laws
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or of its sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information in that way, so there is nothing to opt out of. You may use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response; we will explain how.
In the last 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information, all directly from you or from your use of this site: identifiers (email address, phone number, IP address) and internet activity (technical logs of pages requested). We collect them for the purposes in section 3 and disclose them only to the service providers in section 5. We do not collect “sensitive personal information” as those laws define it.
Browser privacy signals. This site does not track you across other websites, so it has no tracking to switch off in response to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
Our legal grounds for using your information are:
- Your consent, for adding you to the waitlist and contacting you about it, and for calling or texting a number you gave us. You can withdraw consent at any time, which will not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
- Our legitimate interests, for answering messages you send us, keeping the site secure and improving what we publish, where these are not outweighed by your rights.
- Legal obligation, where the law requires us to keep or disclose something.
In addition to the rights in section 8, you have the right to object to or restrict certain uses of your information, the right to receive it in a portable format, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Where your information is stored. Breadshare is based in the United States, and our providers store and process information there. If you are outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and kept in a country whose privacy laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on the contractual protections our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Security
Information travels between your browser and this site over an encrypted connection. The waitlist database is not publicly accessible, and access to it is limited to the people who need it to run Breadshare. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but if a breach affecting your information ever occurs we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
11. Children
Breadshare is for adults. This website is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email privacy@breadshare.app and we will delete it.
12. The Breadshare app
The Breadshare app is in private testing and is not open to the public. When it launches it will handle more information than this website does, such as account details, information from social accounts you choose to connect, the videos you submit, and what is needed to pay you. Before the app opens to the public we will publish an updated policy that covers it, and we will ask you to review it when you create an account.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, for example a new way of using your information, we will email everyone on the waitlist before it takes effect.
14. How to reach us
For anything about your information or this policy, email privacy@breadshare.app.
